Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2, 2026
These terms govern your use of Ritsuban — the daily-planning service available on the web and as desktop, iOS, and Android apps (the "Service"), operated by Alt Tab Design LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("we", "us"). Ritsuban is a product name and brand of Alt Tab Design LLC. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.
1. Your account
You need an account to use the Service. You can sign up with an email address and password or with a Google account; keep your credentials secure and give us accurate information. Your account also includes a personal email-to-task capture address — treat it like a password, because anyone who has it can add items to your inbox. You are responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
2. The free trial
Every new account starts with a 30-day, full-featured free trial. No payment method is required, and nothing is charged when the trial ends — the trial never converts into a paid subscription by itself.
3. Subscriptions and billing
Ritsuban Pro costs $8 per month or $72 per year (25% less than paying monthly). One subscription unlocks the Service on all platforms — web, desktop, iOS, and Android — and the price is the same wherever you subscribe. Prices may not include applicable taxes, which are calculated at checkout.
Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) at the then-current price, until you cancel. You give your affirmative consent to this renewal when you subscribe. We send a reminder before an annual subscription renews.
Who you're paying. Web subscriptions are processed by Stripe under Stripe's Managed Payments program, which makes Stripe the merchant of record for that purchase — Stripe calculates and remits any applicable sales tax, and the charge and its statement descriptor on your card come from Stripe, not us. Subscriptions purchased through the App Store or Google Play are billed by Apple or Google, which remain the merchant of record for those purchases.
Cancellation. You can cancel at any time, and cancelling is as easy as subscribing: web subscriptions are cancelled from your billing/subscription management page; App Store and Google Play subscriptions are cancelled in your device's subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for; you keep full access until then, and you are not charged again.
Price changes. If we change prices, the new price applies from your next renewal, and we will notify you before it takes effect. If you don't agree, cancel before the renewal.
Included AI allowances (fair use). Ritsuban's AI features are included in the plan rather than metered per use, with monthly allowances sized so that normal use never reaches them. The space assistant includes 10,000,000 input tokens per month on a subscription (1,500,000 per month during the free trial), and the free trial includes 25 hours of meeting transcription per month. If you reach an allowance, that AI feature pauses until your next monthly cycle — everything else keeps working, and nothing extra is ever charged. Transcription on a paid subscription currently has no fixed allowance but remains subject to fair use; we may introduce or change allowances, and we will give you notice before a new limit or a reduction takes effect.
4. When you're not subscribed
When your trial ends, or a subscription lapses, your account becomes read-only. Your data is not deleted: you can still sign in, view everything, export your data, delete your account, and subscribe. Creating and editing resume the moment you subscribe. Email sent to your capture address while read-only still arrives in your inbox.
5. Refunds and withdrawal
Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are governed by Apple's and Google's refund policies — request refunds through them. For web purchases: if you are a consumer in the EU, EEA, or UK, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from your purchase. If something isn't right in your first 14 days, contact us at [email protected] and we will make it right. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
6. Your content
Everything you put into Ritsuban — tasks, notes, plans, reflections, email you forward to your capture address — is yours. You grant us only the limited license needed to operate the Service: to store, back up, process, and display that content to you and sync it across your devices. We don't sell your content, show you ads, or use your content to train machine-learning models. You can export it or delete it (with your account) at any time from the app's settings.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for anything unlawful, or to store or distribute unlawful content;
- probe, disrupt, or overload the Service, or attempt to access other users' accounts or data;
- abuse the email-to-task system (for example, using it to relay spam or deliberately flooding capture addresses);
- resell or white-label the Service without our written permission.
8. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the app's settings — deletion permanently removes your data per the Privacy Policy. Note that deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription; cancel it in your store settings, otherwise the store will keep billing you. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms; where reasonable, we'll warn you first and give you the chance to export your data.
9. Service changes and availability
We work to keep Ritsuban fast and available, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We may change, add, or remove features; if we discontinue the Service, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we'll notify you by email or in the app before they take effect; continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the state and federal courts located in Texas have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them — except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence applies instead.
